Why We’re Building VIA
(And Why It Matters)
Think of someone you know.
This person is devoted to following Jesus. They may be a new believer, or they may have been walking with Jesus for years. But they are busy. Family, work, responsibility, and life do not let up.
They do not lack a desire to grow. They want to spend time with God. They want to understand Scripture. They want spiritual growth to become more than something they feel guilty about. More than something they keep meaning to get back to. They want it to become something that actually forms them. Maybe this person is you.
Have that person in mind?
That person matters to me because I've met them over and over again.
Sometimes they're a new believer trying to establish healthy spiritual habits. Sometimes they've followed Jesus for decades. But the challenge is often the same: they genuinely want to grow, yet life has a way of crowding out even the best intentions.
Over the years, I've become increasingly convinced that this isn't a content problem. We have access to more Christian content than ever before. It's also not simply a motivation problem. Most believers I know genuinely want to grow.
Instead, I believe we're facing a discipleship challenge.
How do we help people build consistent, life-giving rhythms of faith that fit into everyday life? How do we help churches support that growth beyond a Sunday service or a special event?
Those questions led me on a journey that started as a discipleship book and eventually became something much bigger.
That's why we're building VIA.
When VIA is released, it will help people:
Spend Time in Scripture
Make Disciples
Build Healthy Spiritual Habits
We have a big vision: to help churches put disciple-making tools into the hands of everyday people, helping them grow in their relationship with God and disciple others.
This vision has taken me on a journey I never expected. What started as a discipleship book eventually grew into a nonprofit organization, the development of VIA, and a growing community of people who believe the church can become more effective at making disciples.
In the next update, I'll share how that journey unfolded, what we've been building, and why we believe VIA has the potential to help both everyday believers and local churches grow in faith together.
